Oregon Family Reunion

We went to LaGrande, Oregon for a family reunion on Rick's side in August. Rick's dad grew up there and his grandpa still lives there. The camp we went to had old train boxcars for us to sleep in (with bunkbeds inside). Here is a picture on Peyton climbing up the side of a train box car.

The camp had a giant slip 'n slide. As you can see, it is really fun! Rick and the boys went down it and went pretty fast!

Here is Peyton and Aunt Jen. The guys (Rick and his brothers) caught crawdads in the creek next to Peyton.

Here are some more updates: Rick is going to school to get a 2nd bachelor's degree in health physics, so he is pretty busy. I am busy at home with 3 kids and having fun, but still adjusting to 3. The boys are growing up so fast and learning so much! Bailey is already 5 1/2 months old, almost sitting up and already eating baby foods!

Bailey's Baby blessing (June)- Rick's aunt Karen made a beautiful dress for Bailey! It was perfect!

Brigham's 5th birthday (June 16th). He wanted another volcano cake (he had one for his 4th also)- but this one he wanted to be an exploding volcano. So we put a cup inside the volcano, filled it with red jello water and added dry ice. The boys loved it!

Peyton's 3rd birthday (June 27th). He loves Star Wars so we made an R2D2 cake.

We went to Colorado in July for a family reunion on my side(Ashley's side). My sister Jeni lives in Colorado Springs. This is a picture of all the grandkids after her son Nathan's baptism.

Wow! Bailey is already 1 month old. She is a very good baby, only cries when she's hungry or tired. And she sleeps good. The boys really like her and it's fun to watch her grow!

Bailey Mae Jensen was born April 13th (4 days over). She weighed 6 lbs. 13 oz. and was 19 1/2 in. She has lots of dark brown hair- I love it! We are so excited to have her here!

I was induced with both Brigham and Peyton a few days early by choice, so I thought I could be patient and go into labor on my own with Bailey. I was wrong. By the third day overdue, I asked to be induced. We went in at 9:30 pm on the 12th and had a cytotec induction. We had her at 10:52 the next morning. All went pretty well except she was having decelerations the whole labor, so I was being monitored pretty closely. Her heartrate continued decelerating into the 50's as I was pushing, so they vacuumed her out after 10 min of pushing. But it was worth it once she was here! We are so excited to have a girl and that she is healthy!

We had our ultrasound on November 17th and found out we are having a girl! She is due on April 9th. We are so excited and very shocked. I wanted a girl so bad but thought it would be another boy. So when the tech told us it was a girl, I was so excited. Rick is also excited to have a girl, but he's a little nervous. Brigham is also excited and loved looking at the pictures and the movie.

Halloween and Thanksgiving

I know, it's been a long time since I posted. So I decided to just post the most recent pictures instead of playing catch up. Our family is now in Chubbuck, ID and we are renting an apartment. It's nice to be living by ourselves again! Rick is working full time at an optical shop and getting his teacher's certificate online. He already has a bachelor's degree in biology, so he can become a biology teacher in 8-10 months with this program. Everything else is going great!

Egg Hunt

Well, Easter was 2 months ago and I'm finally posting the pictures! We went to the Ucon Easter egg hunt. Peyton went with the younger kids and Brigham with the older kids. Brigham was more excited about the toys at the playground than the egg hunt. He didn't want to do it. Oh well, maybe next year he'll like it. They both enjoyed the candy after. Also, they got coupons for Blastoff (a fun game place). Afterward, he talked about it and asked us about it over and over until we took the boys. And they had a blast.

Rick's Birthday

Rick's birthday was April 5th. We had a lot of fun and had family over later for a party. The boys were really excited for the birthday. I gave Rick the Joseph Smith Papers, which he's been wanting for a while.

Hop 2 it

On April 1st, my mom, me and the 2 boys went to Twin Falls for Braden's birthday (my sister Heidi's little boy). We took the kids to a place called Hop to it. It had about 6 different kinds of blow up toys. I wasn't sure if my boys would like it- sometimes they are hesitant about stuff- but they loved it! As you can see the picture of this huge slide, Brigham loved it. He was going crazy, going down it backwards and head first! We were there for a few hours and Brigham and Peyton never slowed down once. I also had a fun time visiting with my mom and sisters Heidi and Lindsey who are in the pictures above.

Green Eggs for St. Patrick's Day

I'm posting this very late, but better now than never! The kids were hesitant to try these green eggs at first. I caught Brigham hiding under the chair in the living room (he wanted to taste them without me watching). Once they both tried the eggs, they loved them and wanted me to make them the next day!

Easter Bunny

Rick's brother, Curt, has a pet rabbit. Brigham and Peyton love his bunny just as much as the horses. I never knew rabbit's wore leashes before- but they do I guess! So Rick struggled to get the rabbit out of cage- the rabbit barely fit into the leash (I guess she eats well). Anyway, the boys had a blast walking around with it. Mostly she just sat, but occasionally she would run off. And the boys loved it and chased after her!

Grandma Jensen is accumulating dress up clothes for the grandkids. She found this darling cowboy outfit. Peyton loved trying it on and looks so cute. Brigham only wanted to put on the cowboy hat and then he said, "I need a gun." So he came back in the room with my blowdryer! We thought it was pretty funny.

Here we are at another birthday party near the end of February. This is at Marie's birthday party (a cousin). Peyton loved playing with this vacuum the entire night!

Brigham and Christian are good buds (this is also at the birthday party)! It seems like since we've been back home, there is a birthday party almost every week! It's crazy, but the kids never get sick of cake and ice cream.

I thought these pictures were so cute of the boys, just random and silly! Brigham and Peyton have so much fun together (they have their moments), but they really are great friends!

I never took pictures of Valentine's day, but I wanted to write something anyway. The boys got together with their cousins at Grandma Ward's house a few days before and had lots of candy and valentines from their cousins. Rick and I went night skiing on Valentine's day and had a blast! It was the first time we'd been skiing in about 6 years. We started out a little rusty, but by the end of the night, we weren't too bad( just frozen).

Well, there's the huge snowman we made! Actually, it was the guys who made it- we just observed. This was the end to a fun day out in the snow. The kids came inside freezing and had cold feet. So they all layed down with their feet up resting on the fireplace getting warm. It was pretty cute!

This is in Grandma and Grandpa Jensen's backyard. These pictures are taken near the end of January when we received a ton of snow. And the boys loved it (it was the first snow Peyton had seen, and Brigham was only 1 1/2 the last time he saw the snow!) They also love petting and feeding the neighbor horses!

Ferry ride to Culebra

On New Year's Day (our last busy day with Rick's family) we went to an island off Puerto Rico called Culebra. It was a LONG day, but well worth it! We left home at 6 am and drove 1 hr. to the east coast to a city called Fajardo. From there, we caught a ferry that left a 9 am. The boat ride was and hour long also. It was a little rough, we were all a little queasy! The kids thought it was fun looking out the window at the ocean. Then we got to the island and it was beautiful!!! We weren't sure how to get to a beach once we got to the island. Some people rented cars, but we didn't want to. So we started walking to the beach until we asked someone how far it was. "3 miles." Well, then we found a bus that took us there. ($3 a person each way- what a ripoff!) So we got to the beach and it was so pretty! White sand and clear water-gorgeaus! The snorkeling was awesome too. After a long day of fun, we took the 6 pm ferry back and then drove home and got back at about 8:30. The kids went right to bed!

Fireworks for New Year's Eve

We just had to do fireworks on New Year's Eve! That's what everyone does in Puerto Rico! The kids had fun.

Arecibe Radio Telescope

On Dec. 31, my birthday, we went to Arecibo where they have the world's larget radio telescope. It's huge! By the way, this telescope is in one of the Jame's Bond movies! We had a lot of fun. We all went out to eat at Fuego Argentino later that night and then did presents and cake and ice cream. Also, all the Puerto Ricans light off fireworks on New Year's Eve, so we got some sparklers and the kids had a blast!

We went to the rainforest, El Yunque, on Dec. 30th. We love going to the rainforest- this was our 3rd time we went. Growth everywhere-just gorgeous!

Bioluminescent Bay

This is a picture off the internet. Just to give you an idea of the glowing water. When we saw the diver, the water didn't glow quite like this picture shows.

After touring Ponce all day long, we continued driving west to "La Parguera." We went for a boat ride for 30 minutes and it took us to a bioluminescent bay. I couldn't capture it in a camera. In the bay, there are algae or something that are bioluminescent (they glow in the dark). While the boat was moving, we saw streaks of light in the water- it was really neat. Then when the boat stopped in the bay, one of their divers jumped into the water. As he swam, we could see the water glowing all around his body. It looked awesome! Then they brought up buckets of seawater from the bay for us to look at. As I swished my hand in the water, the light streaks appeared.

This was in the gardens at Castillo Seralles. I didn't realize until afterward that I was the man and Rick the girl!

This was also in the gardens, and I thought it was a cool place to take a picture. Then someone told me they were rum barrels, oh well!

We drove to Ponce on Dec. 29. It is the southern part of the island. It is a lot drier and vegetation is a little browner in the south compared to the north part of the island- I think it rains less. Anyway, Ponce was beautiful! Our first stop was the famous "Castillo Seralles" (the owner of this old house was rich in the rum business) We didn't go inside the castle, but we toured the gardens and they were so pretty!

Snowing in Puerto Rico

On Dec. 27, we went to Plaza Las Americas, the largest mall in the Caribbean. During the month of December at the same time every day, it snowed in the mall. There were things coming out of the wall that shot out soap. All the Puerto Rican kids loved it, and so did our kids. And it was even wet like real snow!

These pictures are all taken at the fort, El Morro (which is in Old San Juan). The kids had a blast there and loved going in all the tunnels. We went to Old San Juan with Rick's family the day after Christmas.

We thought it was cool to see a cruise ship this close.

Everyone flies kites next to the fort, El Morro. There is a large grassed area around it up on a hill, so it's great for flying kites. We just found this kite laying on the ground, and the kids loved it!

There were tons of pigeons in Old San Juan- the kids went crazy! We fed them cheez-its and the birds were landing in our hands and on the kids. They laughed and thought it was great!

Brigham and Peyton received a Geo Tracks train set from Grandma and Grandpa Ward. Rick gave me a game called "Borinkopoly", the game of Puerto Rico. I was really excited because in the game you see and learn about all the sights in Puerto Rico. The game is in spanish, so I guess we'll do our best understanding the game. I gave Rick 7 Brides for 7 brothers- he loves that show!

Brigham and Peyton were so excited about their toys! We couldn't do much since we had to pack everything we gave them. So Santa gave Brigham "the car and road" that he had dreamed of for several months prior to Christmas and Peyton got a cute little doggie that barks. It makes Peyton laugh a lot!

Fun Christmas Eve

Well, I am getting worse at blogging (only 2 months late!). These pictures are taken during the last 3 weeks that we lived in Puerto Rico. Rick's parents came to stay through Christmas and New Year's Eve and then we stayed in Puerto Rico 1 more week to pack up and get rid of our stuff. We moved to Idaho Falls on January 13th and have been staying with Rick's parents and enjoying and enduring the cold snow!

Rick's mom and dad, sister, and 2 of his 5 brothers came to visit in Puerto Rico on Dec. 22. The next day we took them to our favorite beach, Cerro Gordo. We had a blast swimming in the waves and snorkeling, and relaxing. We also took them to the Plaza del Sol, the mall 1 mile from our apartment. On Christmas Eve, we relaxed at home and got ready for Christmas. Christmas cookies and goodies, nativity, songs, lots of Christmas movies, and the Christmas Eve dinner - Yum! It was so fun to have family there, especially being so far away from home. Rick's family agreed that it was weird having Christmas in 80 degree weather and no snow. But we still had a lot of fun!

Every year we fill our Christmas count-down calendar with candy. The kids are starting to love it (too much!) Brigham had fun stuffing all the candy in the calendar, and they both enjoyed eating it (as you can see, Peyton has some candy in his mouth with the wrappers still on!)

Well, it's almost been a month since I have posted anything new. Pathetic, huh! Well, we've been pretty busy with planning our move back home and selling everything. And I've also been sidetracked with reading Twilight- it is very addicting! (For those who don't know, we feel like things aren't working out here and Heavenly Father has a different plan for us- so we will be moving back home in January).

These pictures were taken a few weeks ago. We decided to explore the west coast of Puerto Rico. We actually drove as far west as we could and saw the beach in Rincon. There was also a lighthouse there. Rincon is famous for surfing, and we did see a few surfers. But I wasn't as impressed as I thought I would be. Well, we walked around for a while and let the kids run around by the lighthouse, which was fun for them. Then we played at the beach for a little bit and also let the kids play on some toys there. It pretty much took up the entire day between the 2 hour drive each way and the exploring.

Trick or Treating!

Peyton dressed up as Spiderman this year, and as you can see, both outfits barely fit the kids! Peyton's costume snapped up in the legs and kept unsnapping all night! We went trick or treating in a neighborhood in our ward (Camino del Mar). We went with another family (the Zappe's) and it was a lot of fun. We pulled the kids around in a wagon, and at every house that we pulled up to, Brigham would dash out of the wagon, run up to the house to grab his candy, and dash back to the wagon. He had a blast! Peyton was even getting into it. He thought it was pretty fun climbing in and out of the wagon also. And they both really enjoyed their candy, especially the suckers!

Bob the Builder

For Halloween, Brigham wanted to be Bob again! That's okay. So, to make the outfit different than last year, we decided to make him a hat. Only we didn't have anything to make a hat out of, so we used the plastic bowl! And covered it with yellow construction paper and designed a "Bob the Builder" logo on the front of it. Very artistic indeed! Brigham loved it.

Pumpkin Carving!

Last year we never found a pumpkin here in Puerto Rico, but this year a friend bought us one from the commisary (a U.S.) military base. It was so much fun carving this with the kids! Brigham wouldn't touch the seeds in the pumpkin and Peyton also thought it was strange. They both had fun staring at the pumpkin once we lit the candle inside of it!

Hurricane Omar

Rick's school was cancelled today due to warnings for Hurricane Omar. Well, nothing has happened to us yet. They don't think Puerto Rico will get the brunt of the winds from the hurricane, but we should get plenty of rain with the tropical storm. So today the kids and I went and bought some water and canned food just in case.

Family Reunion

This August, we went to a family reunion on Rick's side. We went to Donatta campground, which is close to Downey, Idaho. We went swimming there and camped overnight. This picture was taken down the road from the campsite.

New words

Peyton just learned the word "shoes." He is always carrying around shoes and saying "sch,sch" for shoes and begs us to put them on. It is adorable!
